How Insurance Billing Works
Patients are responsible for the charges for services received. However, we will bill health insurance carrier(s), when patients present a valid insurance ID card and/or information regarding insurance coverage at the time of registration. Patients will receive a letter letting them know we've billed their insurance.

Northern Light Health hospitals work closely with all insurance carriers, and we are often able to answer questions and resolve payment issues on behalf of patients as a courtesy. Still, patients need to be aware of the status of their bills and follow up with insurance companies if payments have not been made within 45 days.

Please contact a Patient Financial Services representative for more details.

Self Pay
Patients who are uninsured or do not provide us with adequate billing information are responsible for the full payment of their bill.

If you had insurance at the time of your hospital visit and you believe it was not billed, please contact a Patient Account Services representative with your insurance information (insurance policy name and mailing address, subscriber name, group number, and ID number).

If you are responsible for a bill from our hospital, and are interested in paying your bill online, please click here to access our secure online bill payment site. You may also pay your bill by phone, by stopping in to our office, or by using the return envelope included in your bill.
