Pediatric Cancer Care

Caring for newborns, children, adolescents, and young adults

When a child is diagnosed with cancer, the whole family is affected. We help families understand how to proceed through compassionate consultation, coordination, and management of cancer and blood diseases. Our team’s specially trained nursing staff, child life specialists, social work, pharmacists, and patient advocates understand how to care for newborns and children with blood and cancer concerns, as well as young adults into their midtwenties, and their families.

Maine children with cancer and blood disorders have a place to receive their life-saving and sustaining care, Raish Peavey Haskell Children’s Cancer and Treatment Center at Northern Light Pediatric Cancer Care.

Our space opened in 2012 as one of just two pediatric cancer centers in Maine, serving children and young adults from central, eastern, and northern Maine.

The center was designed with input from patients and their families, and brings all of our outpatient pediatric oncology and hematology services under one roof.

The center also provides infusion-based treatment for children with other conditions and disorders, in a bright, comfortable, modern space.

Our infusion services are administered by pediatric cancer experts, and we can help with long-term follow up and supportive care if needed. Our clinic is warm and bright, and provides a comforting setting that puts everyone at ease. By clearly communicating with referring providers, it keeps everyone in the loop throughout a young patient’s journey.

We provide infusion treatments for:
