Operations and Service Areas

Our pharmacists and technicians practice within a decentralized model. They are assigned to our inpatient care areas, the Emergency Department, Critical Care, and our Maine Rehabilitation Center. Our practice model includes clinical pharmacist generalists and six clinical pharmacist specialists.

In addition, Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center provides remote order verification and clinical services to other hospitals in our region.

This includes computer provider order entry; barcode medication administration technology; automated storage and retrieval system; barcode enabled automated dispensing machines; smart pumps; USP 797 compliant sterile compounding service; and an extensive electronic medical record system with integrated clinical decision support.
