Safe Starts: Infant Safety and CPR

This class teaches parents and caregivers the skills they need to perform Pediatric Basic Life Support (CPR) and the Heimlich maneuver (foreign body airway obstruction and management). There is an opportunity for group practice and demonstration of skills learned. You will also receive information and literature about infant and child indoor and outdoor safety. The program follows American Heart Association guidelines, and is taught by certified Birthplace instructors.

  • There is a fee of $20 for the Safe Starts CPR Class.

  • Payment is requested at the first class.

  • Please plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to class start time for check in and payment. Thank-you!

  • Limited scholarships are available if needed. Please call 207-553-6320 to see if you qualify.

  • Class sizes are limited to provide individual attention.

  • All classes are held at the Mercy Fore River Hospital, in our 3rd floor conference room.

  • Class is 6 to 8:30 pm
