Letter from the Director

Marybeth Boudreau
Thank you very much for your interest in the Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center PGY1 pharmacy residency program.

As the second largest tertiary facility serving two thirds of the state of Maine, Eastern Maine Medical Center offers a wide variety of services. Our residency preceptors are trained in specialty areas including infectious diseases, critical care, pediatrics, medication safety, and more. They work amongst and collaborate with an established inter-professional team of clinicians. We offer four PGY1 positions and we have been accredited by ASHP since 2006. We are seeking a PGY1 candidate who is eager to learn, motivated, and looking to experience a comprehensive hospital based pharmacy experience.

At Eastern Maine Medical Center, our residents and pharmacists work together to impact patient care by creating pharmaceutical care plans and ensuring patient safety. Our pharmacy department is committed to teaching PGY1 pharmacy residents how to become pharmacist clinicians and advanced pharmacist practitioners. We look forward to getting to know you and your personal career goals. We take pride in working alongside you as you become an integral part of our pharmacy team. Together we aspire to help you succeed.

We understand the search for a residency is overwhelming. We commend your efforts to further your professional development and find a PGY1 residency which aligns with your personal career goals. We wish you the best of luck in your search for a PGY1 residency.

Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center's PGY1 Residency offers a comprehensive introduction to the practice of pharmacy. The program offers an opportunity to advance knowledge in many practice areas.
