Nominate a Nurse for the DAISY Award®

Northern Light Health is proud to honor its outstanding nurses with the DAISY Award® — an international recognition program that celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses provide to patients and families every day.

The DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune SYstem) Award was established in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who died at 33 of an autoimmune disease. The Barnes family was awestruck by the clinical skills and compassion of the nurses who cared for Patrick, so they created this award to say thank-you to nurses everywhere.

Anyone can nominate a nurse — patients, family members, visitors, physicians, staff members and volunteers — by sharing a story of the outstanding care the nurse provided. Each month, one extraordinary Northern Light Health nurse will be selected to receive the DAISY Award® by a committee of peers.

Nominate a Nurse Leader for the DAISY Award®

Express your gratitude for the compassionate environment our nurses provide. Nominations call for stories and examples of how leaders have made a difference.

Nurse leaders are defined as:

  • Clinical Educators
  • Clinical Supervisors
  • House Managers
  • Nurse Managers/Asst. Nurse Managers
  • Directors
  • Associate Vice Presidents
  • Vice Presidents/Chief Nursing Officers

The DAISY Award Recipients

Each DAISY Award® recipient will be recognized at a public ceremony and will receive a DAISY Award® certificate, a DAISY Award® lapel pin and a hand-carved stone sculpture titled A Healer’s Touch.
