Northern Light Mercy Hospital welcomes new providers

Northern Light Mercy Hospital has announced the following new providers in its spine, gastroenterology, women’s health, and ENT practices.

Mark Branda, MD
Dr. Mark Branda, a gastroenterologist, has joined Northern Light Mercy Gastroenterology. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine and his medical degree from the University of Vermont, College of Medicine, in Burlington, Vermont. Branda was a resident of internal medicine at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut and had his fellowship in gastroenterology at Rhode Island Hospital with Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. Before joining Mercy, Branda was a staff physician in gastroenterology at Central Maine Medical Center. Photo attached.

Ashton Piers, MSN, FNP-C
Ashton Piers has joined Northern Light Mercy Women’s Health as a nurse practitioner. Previously, Piers worked at Mercy as a nurse and clinical educator. She earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Nursing from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine. Ashton has also been a member of the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetrics and Neonatal Nursing and a supporter of the March of Dimes program. Photo attached.

Daniel Stone, PA
Daniel Stone has joined Mercy’s spine surgery practice as a physician assistant. He received his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, Rhode Island and his Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Manchester, New Hampshire. Before coming to Mercy, he was a physician assistant in spine surgery in North Andover, Massachusetts. Photo attached.

Ginger Layton, FNP
Ginger Layton is a new family nurse practitioner at Northern Light Mercy Ear, Nose, and Throat Care. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Husson University in Bangor, Maine and a Master of Science in Nursing from Saint Joseph’s College in Standish, Maine.
