A fun day of golf while supporting a great cause will be here before we know it! Our annual golf tournament will be held on July 31 at JW Parks Golf Course in Pittsfield. While this year’s tournament is full, we still welcome and appreciate your support by making a donation to help us fund a new ambulance. To donate: northernlighthealth.org/SVHGolf
Our fundraising focus this year is to invest in a new ambulance for our emergency response team, and we need your help to make this a reality. Northern Light Sebasticook Valley Hospital EMS averages around 2,650 calls for both 911 and transfers, covering over 350 square miles. As a rural community, our reach is expansive, covering primary communities of Pittsfield, Newport, Detroit, Hartland, St. Albans, Plymouth, Palmyra, and Burnham.
We also service towns in the instances of mutual aid (when the response warrants significant resources). For example, all three SVH emergency vehicles responded to a major traffic accident in Carmel when 30 vehicles collided. Sebasticook is considered mutual aid for Unity, the rest of Burnham, Clinton, Corinna, Etna, Canaan, Harmony, Athens, and Carmel.
Why is a new ambulance so important?
An upgrade to our ambulance, which will cost approximately $150,000, would first and foremost ensure the members of our communities are able to safely get to where they need to be to receive the appropriate level of care. In a rural area, having a reliable and upgraded ambulance is vital.
With your help, we will be able to fulfill our goal of purchasing this much needed ambulance for the communities we serve.
