Education and connection opportunities for parents

Northern Light Mayo Hospital offers courses to support parents during pregnancy, childbirth, and beyond. We want to make sure that you and your family have the information and resources you need to feel empowered and prepared for your wonderful journey. We look forward to connecting with you!

This course is for parents who have questions or advice or who are looking to meet other parents. Topics include breastfeeding/chestfeeding support and other topics of interest to new and expecting parents.

Baby & Me is held every Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 pm beginning January 10, 2024. Attend in person at the Northern Light Mayo Hospital Piscataquis Conference Room, 897 W. Main Street, Dover-Foxcroft, or click here to attend online. RSVPs are not required. The course is open to all parents, including those who are expecting.

Private lactation appointments are available before and after the group. Please call 207.564.4293 to schedule a lactation appointment.
 
Childbirth Education Classes

Learn all the basics you’ll need to feel confident about giving birth. Topics covered in the course include what to expect as labor starts, progresses, and the postpartum period; comfort measures; and labor positions and scenarios.

Courses are held one Wednesday each month from 5 to 7 pm. There is no cost to attend, but registration is required. Please call 207.564.4293 for upcoming dates and to sign up. A support person is encouraged to attend.
 
Newborn Education Classes

Be empowered and prepared for your journey with a newborn! Topics covered in the course include basic needs and comforting; breastfeeding, formula feeding, and bottle feeding; and idenfying issues and the important of well child checks.
