Residency and Fellowship Programs

Graduate medical education takes the knowledge and skills learned in school and transforms them into clinical practice. For over fifty years, Northern Light Health has understood this and provided an experience where resident physicians work alongside diverse, seasoned professionals and staff, gaining individual confidence while honing their practice of medicine. Our interdisciplinary approach to that practice aids in developing a well-rounded physician, adept at working within a team for the benefit of their patients and communities.

We are proud to have programs in family medicine, osteopathic neuromuscular manipulative medicine, psychiatry, and hospice and palliative care. While each program is unique, they work collaboratively, integrating their education and care of the population we serve. Faculty are dedicated to teaching and the support of Northern Light Health leadership provides a positive atmosphere and learning environment. Without each of these programs, many of the people in our catchment area would be without any meaningful healthcare. Set in the face of this reality, our resident physicians and fellows pride themselves every day knowing they helped someone who otherwise would have gone without.

The people of Maine are grateful for this dedicated service to preserving and improving all of our health and well-being.
